Hue Countryside Tour! In this culinary class, you will learn about the rich and diverse cuisine of Hue, specifically the flavors and techniques of Hue cuisine. Hue is a city in Central Vietnam known for its imperial history and its unique cuisine, which is heavily influenced by the imperial court and the surrounding countryside.
The Cooking class with Madam Thu’s Chef will begin with a trip to a traditional local market, where you will learn about the ingredients used in Hue cooking and select fresh produce and other ingredients for your class. You will then be taken to our Hue Cooking Class kitchen, where our experienced instructors will provide you with an introduction to Hue cuisine and cooking techniques.
You will have the opportunity to prepare and cook several traditional Hue dishes, such as the following:
In this tour, you will have a chance to learn about the La Chu Village, ride a bicycle around the village and immerse yourself in the beautiful scenery of vegetable and rice fields. You will become a farmer, a fisherman and a chef.
08:00 am – 08:30 am: We will pick you up at your hotel in the central area of Hue City by car and take you to La Chu Village.
09:00 am: We will take you to the traditional market – La Chu Market – for a visit and to learn about ingredients here. We will also take you to visit and learn about how The Communal House is associated with history. Then you will have a great time to relax by steeping your feet in medicinal herb water – a traditional therapeutic practice.
10:00 am: Start of La Chu Cooking Class under the instruction of Madam Thu’s Chef.
After your practical class, it’s time to taste the Hue traditional dishes that you have prepared and our chef will be able to give feedback on your own chef skills.
13:30 pm: Have a relaxing time learning how to become a fisherman and go fishing.
14:30 pm: Ride a bicycle around the village. Immerse yourself in the beautiful scenery of vegetable and rice fields. Observe and learn how local farmers work in their fields and experience being a farmer yourself.
16:00 pm: Back to the city. End of services.
